Ellie Marks says her husband is suffering from the same type of brain tumor that killed Senator Ted Kennedy.  She says her husband's constant use of his cell phone may have caused the cancer.

Marks, along with other witnesses, are testifying before a Senate Committee today, telling their stories.

"Unfortunately his brain tumor changed his personality drastically," says Marks.

She traveled from San Francisco to Washington, DC, to testify.  She says her husband, Allen, is too sick to travel.

She says he used his cell phone several hours a day, every day, for 20 years for business. Marks says even doctors blame the cell phone and the radio waves that they can emit.

"That phone was glued to his right ear and the tumor is on the right side of his head," says Marks.

"She has an unusual situation in that her husband used a cell phone for an extraordinary amount of time, and while it's difficult to be certain what the causes were of his brain tumor, the likelihood of the hours and hours on the cell phone could be attributed to his brain tumor," says Dr. Devra Davis of the University of Pittsburgh.

So what are the real dangers?

Recent studies show, you should take safety measures, and children are especially at risk. Experts say use an ear piece, don't keep your cell phone on your body, and children should not put cell phones right next to their heads.

The FDA and the lobbying group The Wireless Association, say the research has not been conclusive enough to strengthen the warnings on cell phones.

Senators will review the testimony.

Yes and sitting to close to a COLOR TV can cause cancer as well. : ) But this is NO JOKING MANNER. My dad was a TV tech for many years till 1968. Then dad was a broadcast engineer for years. He had 5 stations he kept on the air by himself. One was FM 100,000 watt and 4 AM were 50,000 watt. One of the AM was a CLEAR Channel. A Clear Channel means come sundown they go directional and someone has to babysit the xmitter till it signed off at midnight, and AM stations that aren't Clear Channel they have too sign off the air at sundown. On the FM station the Microwave Dish had turn loose from the tower. It hadn’t fallin just needed too be reaimed and tied down. So dad got some logging chain climb the tower, with the xmitter on. When he came down the right side of his forehead was a bright red. Two months later he started having bad headaches. He went to the hospital and was told he had brain cancer. They took a cancer the size of an orange out the right side of his brain. Dad was in the hospital for a week, once out he went right back too work. Three years later he started having bad headaches again. This time it was the size of a grapefruit an there was nothing they could do, dad was 49yrs old. But I saw dad work on these xmitters while they were on the air all the time.
