Wagoner County, OK-  Police tape surrounds what's now a roadside grave for several people and neighbors nearby say this is a Christmas Eve they're not soon to forget.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol and Wagoner County Sheriff's deputies ended their manhunt for a suspect in the triple shooting Wednesday afternoon at about 4:30 p.m., just two hours after receiving a call from a home near 41st and Midway that there was some sort of domestic dispute there.

"He called and said get your kids and go in and lock the door there's a shooter on the loose," said Shelly Addington, who lives in an area that was cordoned off by deputies.

And it wasn't just Santa this family was waiting for this Christmas Eve. They spent a good part of their day hiding from this unknown gunman. "We're packing," said Ronnie Addington. "Waiting for him to come out."

The search ended with the discovery of two people, a man and a woman, shot dead.

"The bodies are near the roadway," said George Brown, with Oklahoma Highway Patrol. "One man's been transported to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the face."

According to Wagoner County deputies, that victim is expected to live.

What led up to two people's lives being taken on Christmas Eve is, for now, a mystery. Police are continuing their investigation and are stopping short of calling this solely a domestic situation.

As for neighbors, they're mystified.

"We never have anything like this happen out here," said Addington. "Never."

According to Wagoner County sheriff's Office, there have been three murders county wide this year. All three occurred during the month of December.
