TPD, US Marshals and a SWAT team are on the scene of an officer involved shooting near 10th and Birmingham in Midtown.

Early Thursday morning they arrived in the neighborhood to serve a warrant for shooting with intent to kill, but the man ran away.

Officers found him soon after near 10th and Birmingham, where he pulled a shotgun and pointed it at officers, who fired at him, killing him. It's still unclear how many shots were fired.

Police have since identified the man as 44-year-old Donald Hallett. He was wanted for a shooting at a North Tulsa Motel 6 just after midnight on November 20th.

The officer involved in the shooting has not been identified. That person is on routine administrative leave pending an investigation.

No sign of a shotgun when he ran, yet it shows up at the location he was killed. . They don't call it "planting evidence", but rather "replacing evidence" that they should have found but didnt. Did no one pay attention to the police corruption trials?

Sounds like fuzzy logic. If more than one fired during the incident it seems like more than one should be on admin till after the investigation. Don't get me wrong I'm not blaming them. I would have done the same thing in their shoes. They most likely had the draw on him :-/ any move he would make after that could be considered suicide by cop.

Shouldn't there be more than one officer on desk jockey since they don't know how many shots were fired?.!

Sad...but really.. you point a gun at an officer you better be ready to go down. Condolences for the family and for the officer and family.. I know that lives were effected all over for that one stupid decision.

It's not polite to point. He got what he got. Condolences to friends and family I'm sure that they never knew that there would be a day like this.
