I buy and sell items on craigslist all the time. I am very cautious and never never go to the peoples houses. You always want to meet up in a public place. In this situation the young ladies should have never agreed to go to the apartment complex. Out of all my dealings with people from craigslist most of them have been very nice and polite. You just have to think first and not fall for stuff like these young ladies did, unfortunately they learned the hard way. Glad they're safe.
