A man walking across the street to get dinner is shot and killed in North Tulsa.
Tulsa police say the 21-year-old H&R employee, LaHarry "L.J." Myers, walked across the street in the 4800 block of North Peoria to get food and was shot multiple times.
The shooting happened around 7:30 p.m. Monday night. EMSA pronounced Myers dead on the scene.
Detectives say there were several calls to 911 about shots fired but few witnesses.
"We have different reports of people leaving the area quickly but that happens a lot. Any bystanders that are close when shots are fired they typically leave the scene as quick as they can," said Captain Dave Roberts.
Homicide detectives are investigating if this is a random shooting and do not know the motive or have suspect descriptions.
Police say other employees were inside H&R Block during the shooting but police say they were not a witness. However, police believe there were other witnesses.
