The Tulsa County Court Services Department is warning people about an imposter using their name to try and get money from people.

Officials say they got a phone call on May 8th from a woman concerned about a man who told her he worked for New Day, the former name of Tulsa County Court Services.

The woman said the man identified himself as Willie Payden, Jr. and told her he would be able to get her son out of jail and into a specialty court program, get housing, and a job. He then asked the woman for money for a bail bondsman and a down payment on housing.

The woman said Payden gave her three different numbers while working with her, she says she called one number and a woman claiming to be his wife answered and corroborated his claims.

Court officials say Payden has an active warrant for his arrest. Officials urge people to ask anyone claiming to work for New Day, Tulsa County Pretrial Release or Tulsa County Court Services for county ID.

Citizens in need of Tulsa County Pretrial Release services are urged to call 918-596-5795 or 918-596-4950.
