Tulsa police say a man who was already arrested for groping a woman, got out of jail and then, four days later, raped a woman. Police say both sexual assaults happened at Springdale Park near Pine Street and Lewis Avenue.
Police tell FOX23 the man was pushing a baby stroller that was stuffed with clothing, through the park. They then say he raped a 19-year-old woman.
Nathan Weiss was first arrested for groping a woman at Springdale Park after she buckled her 2-year-old in the car seat. He went to jail and bonded out the next day. Then police say days later he came back to the same park.
And he was arrested again but this time because police say he raped a woman. Chris Broyles lives a few blocks away from where it happened.
"It was like his hunting ground or whatever they call it," said Broyles.
The police report says the woman was sitting on a bench when Weiss started talking to her and was even rubbing her hands. She told police she tried to get away from him. But police say that's when he grabbed her and dragged her behind a wall at the park and raped her.
She called 911 and police arrested Weiss on the other side of the park. The police report says the victim picked Weiss out of a lineup and he went back to jail Tuesday. It all just makes Chris Broyles worry about his part of town.
"It's bad to hear that bad stuff is happening in your neighborhood you know," said Broyles.
In the arrest and booking report it says Weiss confessed not just to the first assault but also to the rape and that he even told detectives he'd been arrested several times for sexual battery and rape in Michigan.
