Rogers County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested two suspects after a short chase on Monday night.

Deputies saw a white Dodge truck swerving on Highway 66 near South 4200 just after 9 p.m. The deputies turned on their lights and sped up to catch the vehicle, they say the driver ran several stop signs and pulled up to a residence in Foyil.

Deputies say the driver of the truck, Jeffrey Strickland, got out of the truck and ran into the house. Deputies also say the passenger of the truck, Joshua Ryan Jones, tried to get into the house, but after a short stand off with police was taken into custody.

Deputies say they found a syringe in Jones’ front pocket. He told deputies he did not know the syringe was there. Strickland then came out of the house and apologized for running from deputies and was taken into custody.

Strickland faces charges for eluding police officers, failure to display lamps, failure to keep right, failure to stop at a stop sign. Jones faces a charge for possession of paraphernalia.
