Early Wednesday morning, members of the Tulsa County Drug Task Force and the Bixby Police Department discovered more than 60 Marijuana plants inside a Bixby home.

James and Jennifer Carlisle were arrested and booked into the Tulsa County Jail. Neighbors living in the area had no idea what was happening right next door.

At first glance, a quiet neighborhood in Bixby looks charming with white picket fences and manicured lawns, but what neighbors didn’t know was that two people inside a home were growing Marijuana and lots of it.

"I’m real surprised because there is a ton of kids in this neighborhood and especially on this block. A lot of kids up and down this street and its real concerning,” says Bob Gresh.

Gresh has lived in the area for 12 years. He walks his dog three times a day and has passed the home numerous times. He didn’t see the bust, but other neighbors did.

"They saw a big bust and Marijuana plants being brought out and a lot of them out of the house,” says Gresh.

Acting off of tips and surveillance, members of the Tulsa County Drug Task Force discovered 64 Marijuana plants. Some were still seedlings in bowls and pans, while others had grown to large plants. Two weapons were also found inside the house along with two small children.

“It's pretty weird to have people growing that kind of stuff with two kids in the house,” says next-door-neighbor Jeremy Swift.

“They seemed pretty normal and I never really thought anything would happen,” he says.

The two children were given to family members for safe keeping after the parent’s were arrested. The Carlisles are facing charges including cultivation of Marijuana, possession with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm and child endangerment.

And the whole dealing and purchasing trip has a certain sleazy, sexual connotation about it kinda like procuring a prostitute, don't see what the attraction to it is really.I think if it were legalized 90% of them would quit smoking it,the fact that it was illegal was the attraction to it,no more common bond with their fellow heads.

yea, but there is the law ,he took his chances not much different than being a bootlegger back in the day, gettin' caught is part of the deal.If it was legal he would not have been selling it.Not any money in it when it's legal. You never heard the old bootleggers crying when they got busted, they went and did their time and were more carefull the next time. It's not like he didn't know.Obvious he was in it for a quick buck. He's not without guilt.Actually potheads are hilarious to me.Sorry.

still don't think children oughta be around when folks are smoking it I won't drink a beer in front of a kid, strange southern upbringing I guess, pot heads are funny they always say weed has all these magical cures like for glaucoma, etc.I will say for it my relative got very hooked on pain pills when she had her cancer she was suffering with pain and addiction and could barely function, where she lives her doctor was able to hook her up with some medical marijuana and she's off the pills and doing much better.

Sometimes people who use marijuana are lazy, sometimes they become Teacher Of The Year or the President of Apple Computers. You cant look at people's underlying behavior and make blanket assumptions.

You know what?I've seen a lot friends and family go by the wayside over the years from alchohol and drugs including pot, lotta heartache ,hard to be tolerant.Pot is something teenage boys mess with then let it go when they grow up,but so many make it like some kinda religion the weed being the holy sacrament ,their whole life is about pot, most them of neglect their families, totally obsessed with it.

If the Tulsa County Drug Task Force is going to make petty pot busts instead of going after meth labs, maybe we need to be more careful with who gets our tax dollars.
