Muskogee police arrested a man they say assaulted a woman he met on the internet.
Police say they got a call about a possible sexual assault around 2:30 a.m. on Thursday at the Travel Inn Motel in Muskogee. Police say the victim told them she had met Kevin Carter online and made arrangements to meet him in person.
The victim told officers when she met with the suspect he sexually assaulted her, held her against her will, & took property from her. Police stopped the suspect several blocks from the scene and arrested on a sexual assault complaint.
Investigators are interviewing subjects involved as well as witnesses and hope to have all information and evidence to the District Attorney by Friday to determine charges. They are also looking into the possibility the suspect was involved in similar cases in December and January in Muskogee.
