A man convicted in the fatal shooting of a teenager at a Muskogee mall has learned his fate.
A jury convicted Dondray Fowler, 17, of first-degree murder in July. Wednesday afternoon, a judge sentenced Fowler to life in prison with the possibility of parole, to be followed by four 30 year sentences.
The sentence is a result of his conviction in the 2010 shooting death of 17-year-old Jarrod Reed at Arrowhead Mall.
Prosecutors said Fowler intentionally shot Reed and wounded four others at the mall. But Fowler's attorneys claim the shooting was in self-defense because Fowler was intimidated during an argument between rival gangs.
