The Assistant Police Chief of Mounds has resigned after an investigation was launched into the police department.

City officials say Assistant Chief Jerry Grafton resigned on Tuesday night. The Creek County Sheriff's office is investigating corruption allegations against the police department. They are looking into accusations that money and other items are unaccounted for in the department.

Grafton and the police chief were suspended during that investigation. The Sheriff's Office is taking emergency calls while the investigation continues.
