Tulsa police are looking for two gunman that shot a man in his garage near 51st and Lewis.

Just after 8p.m. Monday, police said two people pulled off a robbery at the Lewiston Apartments.  They said the two men then tried to rob a man working in his garage.  That's when things turned especially violent.

"They approached him to rob him, demanding his money and wallet.  He didn't have anything to provide for him and went to escape back into the house for safety and they fired shots at him." said Sgt. Mark Mackenzie, Tulsa Police Dept.

Police said after the man was shot in the torso, the two men ran off.  The victim is in the hospital. FOX23 is working to find out his condition.

Police are searching the area for the two robbers.
