Man arrested for rape at midtown Tulsa motel

Prosecutors file a charge against a man accused of raping a woman at a midtown Tulsa motel.

49-year-old Burnis Howard faces one count of 1st degree rape. According to the arrest report the victim told police she went with Howard to the Desert Hills Motel near 11th and Yale on February 5th.

The victim says Howard punched her in the head until she was unconscious. She says she woke up two days later and had been raped. When Howard was arrested, he admitted to police he had punched the victim and raped her.

Howard was booked on one count of first degree murder. He is being held in the Tulsa County Jail on a $50,000 bond.

FOX23.....so is she still alive or did the guy kill her? Just wondering where the 1st degree murder comes into play......

Pretty sweet how she was able to move on after being murdered. Most people aren't able to come back from that. Seriously now. Journalism has been sliding for some time. But some mistakes are just embarrassing.
