Gunman found on TU campus

A gunman was found on the University of Tulsa campus on Friday afternoon.

The university sent an alert to the TU community to notify them about a man found with a gun on campus. The alert says a campus security officer was checking on a suspicious man walking on the campus around 2:30 pm.

Officials say when the security officer stopped the man pulled a gun and tried to throw it under the officer’s car. The officer took the man into custody and it was determined the gun was stolen out of Rogers County and the man was turned over to Tulsa police.

Campus officials say the man was not a TU student and it is unknown if he was planning any criminal activity on campus.
