Glenpool police are looking for a suspect in the sexual assault of a 12-year-old.
Police say the victim was taken by force from the area of 400 E. 138th Pl. on January 8th, between 4 and 4:30 in the afternoon. Police say the victim was taken to two locations and sexually assaulted before being returned to her home around 6:30.
People who live near E. 138th Place told FOX23 on Monday that they were concerned about the incident.
“(I don’t feel safe) anymore. I am afraid to even walk in this neighborhood,” Megan Ramsy said.
FOX23 repeatedly attempted to speak with police to get specific questions answered about their investigation such as whether the victim knew the man who abducted her, why she was in the neighborhood where she was taken, and if the department feels a sexual predator is roaming the community.
FOX23 was repeatedly told the Chief of Police, Dennis Waller, was not in the office on Monday and only he could answer our questions.
For Ramsy, who is an expectant mother, said that was not good enough.
“I wish they were telling us more, because I am in this neighborhood everyday."
The victim told police the suspect was driving an early 90s white Jeep Cherokee. The victim told police she and the suspect were in the jeep in a possible construction site and a person approached who she believes was a woman and asked the man what they were doing there. Police say the victim told police the man told the woman he worked there and they were leaving.
Police describe the suspect as an older white male with gray short hair, gray mustache and beard wearing glasses. He’s estimated to be 5’8” to 6’0 and 250 to 275 lbs.
Police would like the woman who saw them and anyone who may have information to contact Glenpool police at 918-322-8110.
