A kidnapped and sexually assaulted Sand Springs girl is home with her family.
Sand Springs police arrested Chris Hamilton on allegations he abducted the girl late Monday afternoon.
Her mother, Brandy tells FOX23 that she was at home on Monday making dinner.
She thought her 13-year-old daughter was in the back bedroom playing a video game. When she went back to check on her, she realized her child was gone.
For Brandy, fear kicked in way before she knew how horrific it became.
When she realized her daughter was gone, she began the frantic search to find her, not only because her child was missing, but also because the teen is mentally challenged and has the mental capacity of a 6-year-old.
"One of the little boys told me she had went in this guy's apartment named Chris," says Brandy.
She began knocking on Chris Hamilton's door over and over, but she says he never opened it.
Believing her daughter was inside, she called 911.
"I didn't know what was going on and my motherly instincts told me not to leave," she says.
When officers arrived, they asked Hamilton if she was inside. Over and over he told them no and refused to let them in to search his home.
"He denied any knowledge of the child and said the child wasn't inside his home. When confronted with the fact that the officers were going to get a search warrant for the residence, he let the officers search," says Deputy Chief Mike Carter.
According to Hamilton's arrest report, officers found the girl in his back bedroom inside his closet.
Police immediately brought the child out of the house and into the arms of her mother.
Hamilton was immediately arrested and faces charges of kidnapping, lewd molestation and obstructing a police officer.
"If I had to break a window to get to her then I was going to do that," says Brandy.
Brandy tells FOX23 that her daughter hasn't talked a lot about what happened, but that she does have her in counseling to help her process everything.
Hamilton's bond is set at more than $75,000.
