Tulsa County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 16-year old after they say he led them on a chase.
Deputies say they were looking for the teen after they say he got into a fight with a man and woman in Turley on Tuesday night. Deputies say the teen pulled a gun on the couple and pistol whipped the man before taking off.
The man who was pistol whipped, Buddy Ridgway, spoke with FOX23’s Adam Paluka. He said he and his pregnant went to confront the teen believing he stole the woman’s car.
“He pulled out that gun and he started pointing it at all of us, and his mom ran out the door to talk some sense into him,” Ridgway told FOX23.
Ridgeway says the teen then fled the area.
The next day, deputies say the teen drove by them in a stolen truck, not the same vehicle the friends thought the teen had stolen, and they tried to pull him over on south Quincy, but he drove off. Deputies followed him and he eventually jumped out of the car and ran into nearby woods.
“It was pretty crazy. He’s a devil kid,” Ridgway said.
The Tulsa police helicopter was brought in and the teen was found and arrested near 106th and Highway 11 in Sperry.
The teen’s name has not been released, he faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon, pointing a deadly weapon and eluding.
