The Tulsa County Sheriff’s Offices has the owner of a dog suspected of attacking a man in custody.
Deputies took Gary Brashier into custody on Thursday afternoon on complains of an animal at large and 11 outstanding warrants for various crimes in Tulsa County.
Deputies say Brashier is the owner of a pit bull that attacked Jeremy Byrd in Sand Springs on March 5th. The animal was killed by a neighbor trying to stop the attack.
Tulsa County Sheriff’s Deputies attempted to question Mr. Brashier about the attack and about his dog being unrestrained when they determined he had multiple outstanding warrants. Deputies believe this why Brashier has been evasive in this investigation and fled the scene the night of the attack.
Deputies will continue the investigation to determine if Brashier should face additional charges. Their findings will be turned over to the Tulsa County District Attorney’s Office.
