A 2-year-old boy at the center of an Amber Alert is safe with his family this afternoon and his father is in jail.

FOX23 News was there as a Tulsa County sheriff’s deputy reunited 2-year-old Jason Taylor with his family Thursday morning at the Tulsa Police Department Exploitation Unit.

Police say Jason was found by fisherman Carl Chism near U.S. Highway 75 and 106th Street North around 5 a.m.

William Taylor, 28 who goes by the name Cory, is accused of kidnapping his son from his mother's south Tulsa home Tuesday night.

"He had said, 'I love you, mamma,'" said Julia Burdick.

She is the Jason's mother and said that Wednesday morning, Taylor called her and made threats, and police issued an Amber Alert.

"Tell me I would never get to see him again unless it was his funeral," said Burdick.

Burdick showed FOX23 News the text messages she said were from Taylor to Burdick that started at 11:12 a.m.

One read: "Tulsa's finest is going to cost you and Bubba.”

Jason's grandmother said Taylor also called and made threats.

"My heart has basically been ripped out, like something was taken away from me," said Kathy Warshum.

The text messages stopped at 11:30 a.m and started again at 8 p.m.

"When we started getting text messages from him, I thought, ‘OK we are getting closer and closer to getting Bubba home,'" said Burdick.

Around 5 a.m., Burdick police knocked on her door to let her know Jason had been found.

"Tears of joy," said Burdick. "He said, 'I'm home.'"

Jason was also excited to see his 4-year-old sister, Katelyn Taylor.

"Bubba told her, 'Sissy, I'm home, I'm home, I'm back,'" said Burdick.

While the moment cannot be taken away, from Burdick away, for Burdick it is bittersweet.
"I know he is the kid’s dad, but after this -- you put your son in danger, and you are making threats," said Burdick.

The mother filed a protective order in March and said she reunited with the father this past week. She told FOX23 News she had every intention to drop the protective order before this ordeal.

Taylor is being held on $29,000 bond for a child stealing/kidnapping charge and two counts of violating a protective order.

Ok wait. She clearly invited him back into her life, to see him, and made efforts to repair their relationship....and he is being charged with violating the protective order?? That i do not understand nor agree with. Of course nail him for kidnapping and threatening.....but the violation of the order is completely absurd.
