A Tulsa man accused in the death of an elderly woman last year now faces a new charge.

Tyrone Woodfork was charged on Thursday with one count of bringing contraband into the jail. Court records show he was found with a shank.

Woodfork has been in jail since his arrest last year. Authorities believe he broke into the home of Bob and Nancy Strait, beat them and robbed them.

Nancy Strait died the next day and Bob Strait died a few weeks later. Prosecutors announced last week they would not ask for the death penalty.

Woodfork's trial is scheduled to begin in October.

The judge declared this young twerp to be incapable of planning little more than a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. If he was sophisticated enough to bring a weapon into jail. I think that with Woodfork's current display in how sharply his criminal craft is honed that the judge should ignore what he believes to be the norm. Not only did he have a weapon :-) he was able to keep it hidden from the jail for a lengthy period of time. The judge should reevaluate his view.
