A pair of crooks caught red-handed and police said they stole a Tulsa police detective’s rifle.

Adam Fields, 19, and Guy Green, 19, are accused of breaking into an unmarked police car and several other cars.

Officers said they stole items in south Tulsa neighborhoods between 121st and Delaware to 76th and S. Sheridan.

"The neighbors are all quite nice we speak to each other I am quite shocked that someone would take the opportunity to do that,” said Tonea Gilmore.

He just moved to the neighborhood near 121st and Delaware.

The arrest reports showed when police pulled over the suspected thieves they found tools used in burglaries.

Serial thieves hit at least half a dozen cars. In some of the driveways, the suspects opened the unlocked car doors.

"I feel very comfortable out here," said Gilmore.

Adam Fields and Guy Green are accused of stealing stuff from cars all over south Tulsa in one night.

"People are breaking into homes and stealing guns and jewelry so they can go and capitalize on some quick cash," said south Tulsan Kraig Arthur.

An alert neighbor spotted the pair and shortly after the crime spree police tracked them down and found stolen loot.

Pills, credit cards, an iPod and medical equipment were found. Also, a rifle, police vest and camera belonging to a Tulsa police detective.

"We look after our neighbors. If we see a strange car we do notify our neighbors and call police,” said Arthur.

Police said the suspects tossed their rifle and vest. After being arrested they led officers to the spot where they threw them.

Investigators said the drivers made it too easy for thieves. They skipped a simple step.

"Lock your cars," said Arthur.

The Arthurs watch out for their neighbors and new families are taking note.

"I will be a little bit more cautious about what I do and when I lock my doors because quite frankly I didn't," said Gilmore. “We will be more vigilant."

There is another twist to these suspected thieves. When Fields and Green were arrested they blamed notorious convicted car burglar, Bryden Hill, for the stolen credit card in the window seal.

Hill has been a suspect in more than 300 car and home break-ins and an unsuccessful break-in at the Drug Warehouse in 2010.

His punishment then was a seven year suspended sentence.

In May of this year, records show Hill was charged with more car break-ins including another officer’s car. Police found the gun and equipment stolen from the vehicle. However, the DA dropped the charges because the witness would not cooperate.

Hill is still on a suspended sentence, wore an ankle monitor for two months but records show Judge William Kellough agreed to remove it in September.

Now police believe Hill is working with Fields and Green.

The arrest report showed police found marijuana in the car. Fields is being held on $27,000 bond and reports showed he tried to escape from his cuffs twice. Green’s bond is less than $10,000.

Police recommend you report suspicious activity, get a good description from head to toe and the suspect vehicle. Also keep all of your doors locked.

Now, another relative of Adam Fields is in jail. Randy Bowers the guy that ran out the back door at the meth house last night is Adam's uncle. Now Amber Hilberling, Adam's sister and Randy Bowers, his uncle are all in jail. Who's next in their family? Adam was arrested with Bryden Hill when Adam was 17. His stepdady, a plastic surgeon paid a lawyer to get Adam's status changed to a youthful offender. They were able to blame everything on Bryden Hill, who was 18 at the time. Bryden went to prison and Adam's mom rented him an apartment at University Club Towers. Which by the way is the same apartment that Amber tackled and pushed her husband out the window. Let's see if money can buy the whole bunch out of jail?? If that happens, it should not be a shocker if they all continue to use drugs, steal and hurt people.
