BIO

Steve Layman has happily been a part of the Fox 23 Sports team since October 2006.

You can catch him in the studio anchoring Oklahoma's best each Saturday and Sunday or weekdays at a field or gym somewhere in Green Country.

Born and raised in Illinois, Steve comes to Fox 23 from WDWS-AM in Champaign, Illinois where he served as a sports radio talk show host and play-by-play announcer on the Illini Sports Network.

He began his television career as a sports intern at Fox 5 WTTG-TV in Washington D.C.

Steve's work earned him four awards from the Illinois News Broadcasters Association for best sports reporting and outstanding play-by-play announcing.

He graduated with honors in Broadcasting from the University of Illinois in May 2006.

Outside of work, Steve enjoys church activities, working out, tennis, and basketball. He also has emceed numerous community events, including beauty pageants, talent shows, and banquets.
