 Ian Silver comes to Fox23 from Charleston, South Carolina where he worked as a reporter and producer for the CBS affiliate, WCSC. Before moving to South Carolina, Ian graduated from the prestigious University of Missouri School of Journalism. There he reported, produced and anchored for the NBC affiliate, KOMU. He also covered state politics, reporting for St. Louis radio station KMOX out of their state capitol bureau in Jefferson City.
Ian originally hails from Dallas, Texas, where most of his family still lives. He moved to Tulsa with his wife, Dana, and their dog, Mazel. He is a huge fan of the Mizzou Tigers football and basketball teams. He also cheers for the Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks and Texas Rangers. His wife’s roots in St. Louis, Missouri have led him to also be an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
As a journalist Ian has covered everything from politics to crime to school board meetings to severe weather. He has a special interest in the criminal justice system. He produced a series of stories on capital punishment, and even served as a media witness to two state executions of death row inmates. Ian has a strong dedication to telling stories that affect people’s lives and make a difference in the community.
In his spare time Ian enjoys spending time with friends, reading, cooking, volunteering and riding his bike.
