Danica Lawrence joins the FOX23 news team from Southeast Idaho. She anchored CBS's evening weekend show there and reported during the week. Danica grew up in Burbank, CA, where her passion for broadcast journalism began. She wanted to be a journalist long before she could write. Her father has been working for KTLA in Los Angeles for more than 20 years. Danica would tag along with him at work, and meet reporters and anchors who are now her mentors. Danica majored in political science and minored in journalism at San Diego State University. She interned and worked at KUSI, KFMB and KSWB. She was involved with many national stories in San Diego, including, the 2008 presidential election and the FA-18 fighter jet crash which resulted in the tragic death of an entire family generation. During her time in Idaho, Danica covered many statewide and local issues including Ryan Dyer's murder, the Troy Jackson story and many stories surrounding the Idaho Meth Project. Danica believes there is nothing more rewarding than delivering the news to her local viewers. When Danica is not reporting, she loves traveling, dancing, unwinding on the beach in San Diego and visiting her family in Los Angeles. Send Danica an Email: dlawrence@fox23.com
